We will be releasing after fall break. Our Homecoming Bonfire has been moved up to October 7th. Historically, we had our bonfire the week of homecoming, but we have decided to move it to better help everyone prepare, especially those involved in the Homecoming Court. Tomorrow, there is a chance for significant rainfall and high winds. The forecast shows conditions worsening at 3:00…right at dismissal. Several of the roads around the school can flood. Some of our bus routes could have issues and bus travel in high winds is dangerous. Due to these circumstances, there is a small chance we dismiss tomorrow at 1:30. We wanted to give you an opportunity to make plans based on this information. Our plan for tomorrow is to monitor the weather and make a decision at 11:00 a.m. We will ONLY notify you if we decide to close early. Your children are precious to us. We will always err on the side of caution when it comes to their safety.

With the weather situation for Thursday night looking increasingly worse, the Jr. High football game for Thursday against EPC has been postponed. The game will be made up on Monday at 7:00. There will be no 7th grade game.

Open to grades 7-12. Meet in the ELEM Cafeteria for free food, DJ, and fun after the game! Sat: Marked Tree Youth Sports will be having registration for flag football at the gym from 9:30-10:30 AM. Grades K-3, boys and girls, are eligible to play.

A few reminders to start the week... - This Thursday, Jostens will be meeting with Juniors & Seniors! - Friday, elementary students need to wear tribe colors! - Over the next few weeks, you may notice a large police presence at our campuses. We will be doing walkthroughs & lockdown drills. When lockdown drills are occuring, we will notify parents via text message, instant notifications, and social media! That time has arrived! We are so excited about the start of school tomorrow! Here are some important reminders! We launch our childcare program tomorrow morning. Our PreK classes are full. There will be a lot of traffic around the elementary school. Please remember that the speed limit is 10 m.p.h.! Please make sure you notify the school as to how your elementary student is going to get home. You can tell the teacher by writing a letter and placing it in their backpack or you can call the office tomorrow. Kindergarten parents can walk their students to class tomorrow and Tuesday, but you cannot park in the loop. Please park by the gym. At the high school, please watch for students who might be crossing the road. Originally, the high school had sports pictures scheduled for Tuesday, July 23rd. Those are going to be rescheduled. As soon as a new date is set, we will let you know. This will be a busy week! If you have questions, don’t hesitate to call us. As your school district, we are here to serve and meet your needs! MTSD is excited about the $1.3 million HVAC improvement project that is occurring at our high school. You may notice the renovation work during open house. The outcome of this project is an improved learning environment that will positively benefit our students' health! We are replacing the existing heating and cooling with a state of the art system that will provide fresh air for a healthier environment. This will give the students and staff better air quality, better humidity control in the hallway and classrooms, and will be more efficient in terms of energy use! Aesthetically, you will notice new ceilings and new lighting which will create a cleaner, safer, and brighter environment for everyone. This is a significant investment into creating better schools for our students. Please be patient and forgive us as we make these much needed improvements. They are part of Marked Tree School District's ongoing commitment to enhancing education through improved educational facilities!

Don't forget about Open House tomorrow night on both campuses from 5:00-6:00 and the Back to School Bash in front of the elementary school from 5:30-7:00! We hope to see everyone tomorrow night!
